Toronto Calling

The SoundClash Music Festival promises an eclectic good time.

Vertical Floor is bringing you to Toronto in September launch issue, but you may be planning a summer trip now. Not to worry. There’s plenty going on right now in Canada’s largest city.

If you’re training at the Cloud Gardens or hanging around the downtown area from July 12-14, be sure to catch a bus over to Harbourfront Centre at 235 Queens Quay W. for the FREE SoundClash Music Festival. Now in its third year, this one-of-a-kind festival features an eclectic lineup of international musicians from Chairlift to Born Ruffians. The 2013 lineup includes Kashka, Program, Brendan Philip, The Jessica Stuart Few, Grounders, and The Thing Is. The six finalists were selected by a jury of industry insiders from a pool of more than 200 applicants. Votes from the audience and the jury are combined to pick the winner, who will receive $5,000 and a spot on the WestJet stage at the Hot & Spicy Food Festival on August 30.
